Foundations of brotherhood

The Craft still views Freemasonry as the Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God. The lodge brothers of 2026 are still dedicated to brotherly love, relief, and truth. Each man knows that they are a rough ashlar, and continue to seek perfection through Masonic labor. Webb Lodge brothers acknowledge we bear the continued burden of the labor of Masonic Light. The lodge and its members support the community as upright citizens who serve in numerous capacities and contribute to charitable causes.

From 1866 to today

On June 6, 1866, the Grand Lodge of Iowa formally chartered Webb Lodge in Sigourney, Iowa. For the last 160 years, Freemasons met and worked at Webb Lodge, and that labor continues today. It is important to note: world, national, and state events shaped the 160-year history of Webb Lodge. Freemasonry in Sigourney can trace its origins back through the settling of Iowa, back to before the American Revolution, through the founding of the United Grand Lodge of England, to the medieval craft guilds of Europe, and even before written records. Those founding brothers would proudly recognize that the work they initiated long ago continues to this day.
